About Brown Girl Book Club
A reading resource centered on Black women writers and built with Black women readers in mind. The aim is simple: make room for interesting books and thoughtful conversation without turning reading into an obligation.
What exists today
A featured-book guide, a starting reading list and questions you can use independently. This is an early editorial release, not an established membership club. No scheduled events, subscriber community or history of group readings is claimed.
How to read our recommendations
Book descriptions link to their sources. Research-based introductions are labeled as such. Discussion questions are editorial prompts, not quotations from the books or reports of conversations that already happened. We won't invent a named curator, a personal reading experience or a reader count to make the site look established.
Books before pressure
You can use a guide for a private journal, a conversation with a friend or an existing book group. No account is required. Read at your own pace and leave questions unanswered when that is the more honest response.
How this may be funded
